Sedation
Highland, IN
Most of our patients choose to have a light twilight sedation to “thrive rather than survive” though their experience. Removing a tooth is quite different than receiving a general dental procedure and this type of sedation can help make the experience more pleasant.
The goal of sedation is to provide a safe and pleasant environment in which you then receive treatment. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Pulver has pursued post graduate training in anesthesia as part of his educational residencies to assure safety and comfort for his patients. Dr. Pulver utilizes techniques that help make your overall experience as safe and pleasant as possible. These techniques have been learned and developed over the last 17 years of safe patient care.
Our staff is trained in assisting with Intravenous (IV) Sedation, or outpatient general anesthesia, in our state-of-the-art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery. We implement a smooth transition technique from surgery to recovery, to post-op, to discharge. This assures continued observation and safety during your care. We pride ourselves in offering a safe twilight sedation that emphasizes patient safety, comfort and pleasantness.
Our office has been evaluated by the Indiana Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and meets all the criteria recognized by the state for safe sedation and general anesthesia care. This includes evaluation of training, emergency protocols and safety equipment and preparedness for emergency situations. We feel that this is just another small way we strive to help alleviate a small part of the anxiety often associated with your visit.
